We’ll work together to create clear, concise, and compelling content.

My background

Meet your editor

With over 25 years of experience in marketing and content development for small businesses and organizations, I’ve been fortunate to hone my editing and writing skills across various industries.

Working as a marketing manager for a refinery, I developed creative ads and content that connected with thousands of dental labs and dentists across the United States and Canada, propelling the company to years of record growth.

In 2017, I ventured into freelance copywriting and copyediting to help entrepreneurs and small businesses create content that ranks well and resonates with their target audience.

While freelancing, I found that a significant portion of my time was spent editing posts, e-newsletters, and proposals for clients. I noticed that editing requires slightly different skills than writing, and I was enjoying it. I decided to strengthen my editing skills by enrolling in a copyediting certificate program with the University of California – San Diego, a venture that took me deep into the world of grammar, syntax, and clarity.

In 2024, I decided to put my editing skills to good use by joining the team at Divided We Fall, an all-volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to civil discourse and bipartisanship. As the deputy managing editor, I had the pleasure of leading a team of associate editors who edited weekly debates written by subject matter experts.

Just for fun…

When I’m not working, you may find me hiking with my husband and dog (a huge, fluffy white dog named Abby, who looks distinctly like a polar bear), sketching animals, gardening, cooking, running, or planning my next off-the-beaten-path vacation.

My values

Integrity

I am a firm believer that if you put good out into the world, good things will come back to you. If I am working with a client, I consider them my partner in the writing and editing process, and I will do my best to take care of them while we are on this journey together.

Empathy

I think of empathy as going through life with the Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you’d have done to you,” at the forefront of your mind. Empathy may start at home, but spreading it further—to our neighbors, communities, and businesses—sure would make the world a better place.

Lifelong learning

You may have noticed that when you stop learning, life can start feeling a little stale. For that reason, I love taking on new challenges, exploring new concepts, and developing new skills—it makes life feel more vibrant and meaningful.
